Times of San Diego is an independent, online news site covering the fifth most populous county in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

San Diego County is a study in size and contrast. It is home to as many people as Iowa and as large in area as Connecticut. A one-hour drive will take you from the ocean over mountains to the desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one of the leading producers of agricultural products \u2014 first nationally in avocados \u2014 but also the world center for unmanned aircraft and smartphone technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The military complex that includes naval facilities<\/a> around the bay and Marine installations at Miramar<\/a> and Camp Pendleton<\/a> is the largest military concentration on earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just south of San Diego is Tijuana<\/a>, a community almost as large and connected through the world\u2019s busiest border crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n

NewsGuard<\/a>, a New York-based company that rates news and information websites for credibility and transparency based on nine objective, nonpartisan criteria<\/a> has given Times of San Diego a perfect score of 100 out of 100 points. In addition, we have published a transparency report<\/a> as a participant in the Journalism Trust Initiative<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May 2016, the website was recognized as the Small Business of the Year<\/a> in California\u2019s 39th state Senate district by former Sen. Marty Block. \u201cThe Times offers its readers online, outstanding comprehensive news,\u201d Block said in conferring the honor<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The website is on Feedspot<\/a>\u2018s lists of the top 100 news websites<\/a> in the United States and the top sources of local arts news<\/a>. The popular RSS reader allows news buffs to easily follow multiple sources.<\/p>\n\n\n
